Come along with us on our mission to Kenya...

The team leads villagers in song.

Thursday, July 15, 2010 - Over the last two days we have visited seven schools in the Nanyuki area.  Well over one thousand children, parents, and teachers have seen our drama, sang songs of praise to God, and heard the Gospel of Christ.  Hundreds (including several Muslims) have received Christ's gift of grace -- praise the Lord!  As we have grown physically tired from our rigorous schedule, seeing so many come to know Jesus has encouraged us to continue what our Father has sent us to do.

Team poses with the people of Massai.

The students were in turn a tremendous blessing to us.  In many of the schools, they had prepared songs in their native tongue and also at one of the schools they sang a blessing over us which told us how long they had been waiting for us.  Dozens of bracelets made by the children during CVC's Music Camp have been presented to happy Kenyan children.

We look forward to many more adventures as we continue sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Until the whole world knows,

Matthew 19.4  But Jesus said, "suffer the little children and forbid them not to come unto Me; for to such belongs the kingdom of Heaven."

Tuesday, July 13, 2010 - God is AWESOME!!! After departing the El Paso International Airport at 8:20AM Sunday morning, we made our way through the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, Logan Airport (Boston), Heathrow Airport (London) and finally made it to Nairobi, Kenya about 31 hours later. We spent our first night in  Kenya at the Gracia Hotel in Nairobi. Everyone got a good night sleep and we packed into a small bus  for a four hour drive northwest to Nanyuki.   Our host Pastor Jerry Daniels was with us on this leg of the journey.

Driving through the countryside in Kenya was an incredible experience. This is a land of contrast and beauty. The people are humble and friendly.

After arriving in Nanyuki we met up with Pastor Daniels' wife Sherry and it was time for a quick meal and then some practice for the drama we will be performing at schools in the area. Pastor Larry Wilkins spent this time teaching PLACE to 30 teachers and national pastors.

Tomorrow we begin our exciting time with the children as we perform our drama for the first time and teach them songs with sign language, followed by a message given by Pastor Larry Wilkins. We covet your prayers as we move through the country. We ask you to pray that hearts will be open to God’s touch and that we will be obedient to His leading.

Until the whole world knows,

2009 -  Read what our mission team had to say about their trip to Southeast Asia...

August 2009

Our trip to the Sea Tribe people of Southeast Asia was an incredible experience for all. Our team journeyed more than 21,000 miles in the air and 100 miles on various sized water vessels to tell people of the love of Christ.

Over these two weeks we visited several islands and spent much time on two specific islands in which we lived in the homes of our host families who are Muslim by birth. We were blessed as we were the first Americans to ever visit the second island. On these islands, there are many misconceptions of what it means to be a “Christian.” These people have American television stations. They see the pollution that is broadcast by our media and believe this is what it means to be a “Christian.” Our mission was to help them see the truth of Christ as found in Scripture.

We encountered people with different customs, traditions and manners. The Sea Tribe people are close knit. They live out a life of community that is very appealing to westerners. Most have never read the Al Quran, nor do they have a clear understanding of their religion. They are hungry for the things of God and demonstrated an openness to the stories of Christ. The Lord provided many opportunities for our team members to share our faith with our hosts and their neighbors. Only God knows what fruit will come from our short stint of labor.

Thank you for the many prayers and generous support for this significant event in my life, in the lives of our team members and in the lives of the multitudes of people who have never heard the Good News. I am sure many of you would like more specific information and personal stories. I encourage you to talk with one or more of our team members for their own stories.
